To set up MFA in Microsoft Authenticator, follow the directions in this article.

Sign into Microsoft applications

NGU relies on Microsoft applications for communication and productivity. Make sure that you can access the following applications.

  • On your NGU-issued computer, open Teams. If you are asked to sign in, enter your NGU email, password and MFA.
  • Open WordPowerpoint and Excel to make sure you are signed in.
  • Open Outlook and make sure you are signed in and are receiving emails. You can access your NGU email account on your smartphone for mobile access as well.
  • Open OneDrive to connect your account. As a member of NGU, you get 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage.

NOTE: With your NGU account, you get five licenses of Microsoft 365 (Office) and full access to Microsoft 365 online.

Access NGU-hosted storage

If you are on a Windows computer, open File Explorer. On the main page with "This PC" highlighted on the left navigation panel, you will see the M: and S: drives.

  • The "M: drive" (jlosh$ in the picture above) is your own, private cloud storage, hosted by NGU. You have 8GB of storage available.
  • The "S: drive" (Dept_Shares$) is internal shared storage used within departments. Ask your department what you need to access in the S: drive.
  • Additionally, on your computer or online, you have access to 1TB of OneDrive storage. See Microsoft's document on getting started with OneDrive
