Description: This article describes how to reset your NGU network password through Microsoft's self-service password reset if you cannot sign into your account.

How to reset your password
Students
If you are a student and need to reset your password, please call the ITS Help Desk at (864) 977-7272.
Faculty and staff
To reset your password by phone, call the ITS Help Desk at (864) 977-7272.
To reset your password online,
- In a web browser, go to https://helpdesk.ngu.edu/password-reset. Alternatively, at the Microsoft SSO login page, select Forgot my password.

- In the "Who are you?" section, enter your NGU email address (for instance, srogers@ngu.edu) and enter the characters in the picture.

- Select the applicable option answer on the "Why are you having trouble signing in?" page.

- Select the contact method that Microsoft should use to verify your identity (such as Approve a notification on my authenticator app).
- If you select Approve a notification, enter the number shown on the page in your Microsoft Authenticator app.

- Enter a new password for your account twice and select Finish.


- You will get an email confirmation that you reset your password.
