Introducing Canvas

First-time login

1. In a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.), go to canvas.ngu.edu.
2. Sign in with your Microsoft SSO credentials (NGU email, password, MFA method).
   • If you experience issues signing in with your NGU account, contact ITS.
3. The first time you sign into Canvas, you will be prompted to read and agree to the Acceptable Use Policy.

Canvas dashboard

The first page you will see when signing into Canvas is the dashboard, which shows your courses, upcoming dates, and links to other sections in Canvas.

Your dashboard may be blank (like the screenshot below). Courses will appear in your dashboard once you've been assigned a role in a course. 

• If your dashboard is blank but you are in an active course and you believe there should be courses here, contact the Registrar Office.

Course access varies by term.

• CAPS Term 1: August 17–October 10 Access begins August 10

• GRAD Term 1: August 17–October 11 Access begins August 10

• Traditional Full Term: August 19–December 9 Access begins August 10

• GRAD Full Term: August 17–December 13 Access begins August 10

• CAPS Full Term: August 17–December 13 Access begins August 10

• Physician Assistant Full Term: August 10–December 4 Access begins August 3

My courses don't look right

Contact NGU's Registrar. Changes made by Registrar could take up to two hours to reflect in Canvas.
