NGU Network ID: Your Key to Online Access

As a student, faculty member, or staff at NGU, you'll be equipped with a Network ID, granting you seamless entry into essential platforms like email, Blackboard, and the my.ngu.edu portal. This unified identifier not only facilitates on-campus printing but also provides access to NGU computers.

Please note that your Network ID does not extend to the Financial Aid portal. For inquiries regarding your Financial Aid account, reach out to NGUcentral at (864) 663-0186.

Students

Network ID and Email

Your student username (NGU Network ID) is a combination of your last name and the last four digits of your student ID, ensuring a unique identifier (e.g., wayne1234). If your last name surpasses 11 characters, it will be shortened to maintain a username no longer than 15 characters. Additionally, any punctuation or special characters in your last name are omitted in your Network ID.

Once your student status is confirmed, whether through a deposit payment or class enrollment, your Network ID will be generated within three days.

Your email is your Network ID followed by "@ngu.edu" (e.g., wayne1234@ngu.edu).

Password

Your initial, automatically-generated password comprises the first two letters of your last name (with the initial capitalized), followed by the first two letters of your first name (initial capitalized), and your birthdate in mm/dd/yyyy format, separated by backslashes. For instance, John Smith, born on January 2, 2003, would have the password: SmJo01/02/2003.

You can change your password at any time by either calling our IT Help Desk at (864) 977-7272 or visiting our Single Sign-On Portal.

Faculty and Staff

Account provisioning for faculty and staff occurs within three days of either a credential request or the employment start date, whichever is later.

To initiate a new faculty or staff account or to request modifications to an existing one, please utilize the "Request New Employee Account" or "Employee Account Change" buttons on this page.

Network ID and Email Address

Your NGU Network ID will consist of your first initial followed by your last name (e.g., jdoe). In cases where there's a duplicate of your first initial and last name, a numerical digit will be appended to your Network ID (e.g., jdoe2).

Your employee email address will be constructed using your first name followed by a period and your last name, followed by "@ngu.edu" (e.g., john.doe@ngu.edu). Additionally, you can utilize your NGU Network ID followed by "@ngu.edu" as an email alias (e.g., jdoe@ngu.edu).

Password Requirements

  • Your password should consist of at least 12 characters and include at least one capital letter, one lowercase letter, and one number or special character.
  • Avoid using any part of your name in its entirety.
  • You cannot reuse any of your previous passwords.
