Displays in Crain 236

Crain 236 is equipped with two separate display options:

  • Front Display: A large display at the front of the room
  • Ceiling TVs: Two televisions mounted on either side of the ceiling

You may use either or both display options depending on your preference. Each display is controlled by a separate remote, as shown below:

  • Front Display Remote:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  • Ceiling TVs Remote:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

Connect your device

Wired connection (HDMI)

  1. Power on the TV displays that you need.
  2. On the presenter desk, use the HDMI switch to connect to Channel 1.HDMI Switch remote
  3. If you have issues with the remote, press the Select button on the HDMI splitter to toggle between HDMI inputs.
  4. Locate the HDMI cable stored either on or inside a drawer in the table near the front door.
  5. Plug one end of the HDMI cable into your computer and connect the other end to the HDMI port on top of the table.
    • The display should automatically switch to the HDMI input. If it does not andthe screen does not appear, use the HDMI switch to change the input to Channel 1.
  6. Adjust display settings if necessary:
    • Windows: Go to Settings > System > Display
    • Mac: Go to System Settings > Displays
    • Choose Mirror or Extend as needed.

Wireless connection (AirServer)

  • All classrooms are equipped with AirServer – a cross-platform, wireless presentation tool.
  1. Power on the display(s) using the provided remote(s).
  2. On the presenter desk, use the HDMI switch to connect to Channel 2.
  3. If you have issues with the remote, press the Select button on the HDMI splitter to toggle between HDMI inputs.
  4. Follow the instructions below based on your device:

Windows

  • Press Windows Key + K
  • Select the room (e.g., Crain 236) from the Cast pop-up

NGU-Issued Mac

  • Click the Control Center icon in the top-right menu bar
  • Select Screen Mirroring
  • Choose the room (e.g., Crain 236)

Personal Mac

  • Connect to the Guest WiFi listed on the AirServer screen (WiFi name & password are shown under Guest Network).
  • Open Control Center
  • Click Screen Mirroring and select the room (e.g., Crain 236)
