Set iPad Passcode

The iPad may require you to set a passcode without the following steps. If it does not,

  1. From the home screen, tap Settings to open.
  2. Tap Touch ID & Passcode and tap Turn On Passcode.
    • Your passcode must contain at least eight characters, numbers and letters.
    • You can tap Add a Fingerprint for convenience. This lets you unlock the iPad by tapping your finger on the home button.
    • NOTE: After 10 failed login attempts, the iPad will be erased.

Connect to your Home or Business Wi-Fi

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap Wi-Fi and select your network.
  3. Type your Wi-Fi password if needed and tap Join.

Access Email

  1. Open Outlook from the home screen.
  2. In Outlook, you can read emails and compose new messages.
    • Your email address is your first initial + your last name + .bt@ngu.edu (John Smith's BT email would be jsmith.bt@ngu.edu).

Access Govenda

Govenda is NGU's board management software that streamlines communication, collaboration, and governance for boards and leadership teams.

  1. Open Govenda from the home screen.
  2. Sign in with your NGU Trustee email (i.e. jsmith.bt@ngu.edu) and password. Tap Remember Me and then Sign In.
  3. If you do not have a Govenda password or need to reset your password,
    1. Tap Forgot?
    2. Enter your NGU Trustee email (i.e. jsmith.bt@ngu.edu).
    3. Tap Send Email.
    4. Open the Outlook app and open the new email from Govenda. Tap the Reset Your Govenda Password Now link.
    5. Type your new Govenda password in the New and Confirm fields. Tap Reset Password to set it.
    6. Finally, press the home button on the iPad to go to the home screen. Tap the Govenda icon to open the app and log in with your BT email and new password.

Set Govenda Timeout and Touch ID Settings

  1. Open Govenda.
  2. Tap Settings.
    1. If you see an Auto Logout option under the Date Format section, change the "Time Until" to 100 min.
    2. Under Authentication, turn on "Associate this account with Touch ID" for convenience.
